Feeling confident in color wasn’t something that had crossed my mind years ago, but I am so glad that it’s a part of my story today.
Growing up, I was the type of kid who kept my head down low and avoided attention as much as possible. I wanted to blend in with the crowd - it was what I was taught to do, so it was all that I knew. I thought this way of doing life was a form of modesty, and to invest on the outside (like my appearance, clothes, etc.) was selfish and vain. As I’ve gotten older, I realized that it was okay to spend time nurturing all the different parts of me - from my mind and my heart, to how I got dressed each day. I learned to give myself permission to feel the joy in wearing clothes that made me feel good, but it was definitely easier said than done. It’s been a journey that I’m still navigating through to this day, but I’m glad getting my color consult done helped me embark on a path of finding a new level of confidence!
I hope that knowing your best colors has sparked a new level of joy and confidence for you too. I know that it can initially feel overwhelming, especially if you received a palette that you hadn’t expected. But give yourself permission to take your time; it’s a journey, and it’s okay to take it slow!
