POV: Letting your inner child pick your outfit

When you were a kid, were you the horse tee girl? The tomboy? The princess dress to the grocery store girl? The emo kid? Did you wear exclusively purple?

There is a magic age when you’re old enough to pick out your outfit, but young enough to not be dressing out of protection, where, if you were allowed to, your creativity, interests, and joy took center stage when getting dressed. My 6-year-old is there right now, and it’s kinda magical seeing what she comes up with.

Every once in a while, it’s nice to let your inner child use your grown-up money to get something whimsical or fabulous.

So this week’s outfit prompt is to start with a kid outfit in mind (either your kid, or an old pic of you as a kid), and don’t necessarily MATCH it, but see which aspect makes you smile and inspires you, and weave something like that into an outfit.

There are no rules for this.
